Week 2

It has begun in earnest. Joan has been busy all week stitching in our School teachers blouse. She used a sloping long and short stitch on the arm with shading.
She was concerned about the tension so the sides will be lashed to the edges as well as the top and bottom.

Joan said "I enjoy embroidery and enjoyed stitching on the tapestry. I find it refreshing and very relaxing after spending my entire working life in health care and being around illness so to find that I can create in my 70's is marvellous"
We received a package of other colours of the wools from Dorie which was lovely to open. Dorothy has organised them all in a briefcase in numbered ziplock bags to go along with the key.

The rest of the group has decided to work on various Textile Art with a related theme of 'Inspired by Caithness' whilst the tapestry project is ongoing. Celia was thinking about the sea. Louise was photographing and then painting Caithness Flagstones.
